Usually we think that there are things that define us as human, that we possess characteristics that are unique to us and define us as such. “Sensitive Water” proposes to construct a distancing between the human and what we see as its main features.

This projects is based upon several aims. On its early stage, there was a strong interest in building an interactive installation that explores other kinds of interface that could allow a physical experience, specially based on touch, at the same time that could also permit to create the illusion that something inanimate could have the capacity of reacting to touch as if was, somehow, alive. The combination of water and laughter seemed to be perfect to achieve those two goals and opening the doors for another desired achievement: the use of the sense of humor as well to have an opportunity to give the installation a playful dimension.

The water is in fact the main aesthetic component of this installation. This choice was made because of the physical and psychological sensations that it causes in people, becoming also in the poetic and visual element of the project, offering simultaneously the playful and the contemplative, while the tickling works a sound element causing a surprise feeling in the visitor.
